July 8 - Thurs. Outside of Pagosa Springs, CO.
We've moved our "camp" on into Colorado. Pagosa has the worlds largest and deepest hot mineral spring with indoor and outdoor pools. We may get to do a "soak" before we leave the area.
Yesterday we drove up to Wolf Creek Pass; saw the ski area and then onto an 1800's mining town, Creede, sight of old silver mines. Nowdays its looks like a miniature Eureka Springs and very dependent on tourism.
Today was a "WONDERFUL" 2 1/2 hour hike to Chimney Rock Archaeological area, a few miles from our RV camp. Tours are only with a guide as "digs" are ongoing. Got some good photos and learned more about the Puebloan people and their home 1000 years ago. Thank God I had my ocotillo hiking stick and Corky to drag me up the rugged trail. Next hike I need to remember a hat and more water!
Corky is working on the RV this afternoon. We have one "slide out" that doesn't want to operate properly and he's made lots of trips to Ace Hardware in town for "nuts and bolts".
We have a few more days here before going on. It's always my pleasure to visit with others on these adventures and to see the beautiful world the Lord gave us to take care of.
More later.

  1. Too bad about the clutch! Even when you carry your house with you it can give you trouble! Finished the GreatBearWritingProject at UCA. Really good experience and the 6 graduate hours don't hurt. It's nice to be more flexible for a few weeks but I'm sure by the time school starts I'll be ready for a change. Love to you both, Christine
